Getting fit the the new season (2009/10)

Well it's getting closer by the second......the new football season is fast approaching and for some it's already started. A fantastic result last night for Welsh outfit Llanelli, who managed to pull off a shock 1-0 away win at Motherwell in the qualifying stages of the Champions League.
As for myself, my season begins on the 8th August as an assistant referee in a pre-season friendly between a Cardiff team (Ely Rangers) and Birmingham City Academy.
So far I've had a good summer, losing 15lbs in the past 9 weeks as I prepare to get super fit for the new season. Physically and mentally I'm ready for the challenge ahead and look forward to excelling my own expectations, which are high to say the least (but they have to be don't they?lol). Ultimately my aim is to gain promotion and at the same time be satisfied with my own performances.
No doubt throughout the season I will make mistakes, but it's how you recover from those mistakes and ultimately a lot rides on the magnitude of those mistakes. Anyway, for now I'll keep my positive outlook on things and convince myself that I'll have a mistake free season! lol.

That's all for now from me, so I'm off to make the most of the sunny weather outside and might even enjoy a chilled beer!
